- Log in to Shockey Monkey portal by entering your email address and password.
- Click on Projects in the left hand navigation panel to be redirected to your Projects Dashboard.
- Click New Project to create a new project.
- Enter text into the Name field to name the project.
- Click in the drop down box next to Type to select Internal for a project that will only be visible to your company’s staff, or External for a customer billable project.
- Enter a Description or overview of the nature of the project into the Description field.
- Under Primary, Contact, click in the Contact Email field and begin to type an email address, then allow the database to find and populate the Contact’s information under Details.
- Under Project Leads & Team Resources, click the green Plus sign below Leads to type in someone’s name, then allow the database to find and populate the information of the person involved in the project under Details.
- Click in the drop down box to select a Role for the Project Lead.
- Click the (manage roles) link to add and remove Role titles from the project.
- Click the green Plus sign below Resources to type in someone’s name, then allow the database to find and populate the Project Resource’s information under Details.
- Click in the drop down box to select a Role for the Resource.
- Click in the Start Date field to select a date on the calendar for the project to begin.
- Click in the Stop Date field to select a date on the calendar for the project to be completed.
- Click the arrows or enter a number into the Estimated Hours field.
- Check and Uncheck the Notifications to include or exclude Client, Project Lead, and/or Project Resources from project notifications.
- Click Create Project
- On the next screen, select New Project Flow to manually enter the stepwise task list for the project or Load Project Flow to import a prescribed set of steps for the project.
- For New Project, click the green Plus sign next to Add a new step to drop the menu open.
- Click to enter text into the Name field to name the step.
- Enter text into the Description field to be more specific about the project step.
- Click the arrows or enter a number in Time, both Hours and Minutes.
- Select Yes or No for Optional and Critical status boxes.
- Click Save to add the step to the project.
- Click the green Plus sign next to Add a new step to add another.
- Once you have added all the project steps in, select Yes if you wish to save this layout as a new template.
- Click Create Project.
- Set Roles: Click Roles in the lefthand Home panel to set up the list of individuals who will be involved in the Project, so that you can centrally manage through Shockey Monkey.
- Click in the Add New Role field and type in the role’s name or a brief description.
- Click the Green Plus sign to create the Role.
- Click the Red X next to a Role if you wish to delete it.
- Click the Red X at the top right corner of the pop up menu to return to the Project Dashboard.
- Customize settings by clicking Settings in the lefthand Home panel.
- Click in the drop down box next to “Alert me when there are X days left” to set the timeline to receive an automated email.
- Click in the drop down box next to “Alert me when the project has exceeded hours by X%” to set the threshold for email notification.
- Click in the drop down box next to “Purge Pending Projects after X days” to set the automated dumps.
